Explore a mysterious magical forest as a lost fairy on her way back home. Encounter mythical creatures and help them find what they lost.
I was in charge of Pixel Art, VFX, Programming and Modeling Assistance.
For the modeling workflow we made sure to work on a low texel density to create a pixel art feel and the ability for me to manually create textures using Aseprite. I settled for the AAP-64 palette for the entire game to make sure the art style is consistent. I chose the AAp-64 palette for it's vibrant colors, great range in blue & green colors and general fantasy aesthetic.
For the VFX workflow I tried various things. Subtle fog on the water by rendering pixel textures with low opacity. Glowing Fungi by creating Aura 2 volumetric lighting, emissive textures and a point light to emphasize the spores.
As far as the character controller goes, I wanted to make sure the player felt as free as a pixie, enabling the ability to do playful somersaults, rolling and cool wind magic!
